in short. had perfect running spyware blaster and guard.
but had them installed on little hard drive. uninstalled them (using add/remove windows control panel thingy) ok so its left folders there.. and some protect files that i cant delete.
installed an old setup that was downloaded on to big hard drive and it tells me
"error in reading the definitions, the file may be corrupt or another program has tampered with them run live update to download the latest definitions. this message will apear when u try to start covered file types unless you disable protection in the spyware guard control panel"
so i un-install that (after i could download latest definitions)
    download the latest for both.
install them both and same problems. blaster i think is fine.. its mainly guard..

this message pops up everytime i try to install another program

    (re-installing also ewido, adobe, firefox)
MY log is clean.. ive just recovered the pc from a vundo mess this morning. done a vundofix, hijacksthis, panda activescan.
i run spybot S&D, antvir, ZA, ewido with my spyware guard and blaster.

spyware blaster and guard i re-downloaded from the site, and do a uninstall-reinstall again.. same thing.. update all new definitions.. still errors..
    My Q's are
how do i delete these old files protect.dll? and the other one.. the files are marked read only.. (i now have 2 copies i dont need)
am i still protected even with this faulty annoying problem?
what can i do to fix the guard is corrupt thingy?

    any suggestions?
apologies if i have overlooked it somewhere in the knowledge base of some tutorial.. id be grateful if u could point me in that location.. thank you for taking your time to read my scattered detailed problem.

:) For deleting hard to delete files you may want to try "Unlocker" available
    at : http://ccollomb.free.fr/unlocker .
You did not mention if you ran a registry cleaner to remove "left-over"
entries there !? I use the SAFE "Registry First Aid" ( the FREE "evaluation
copy ) available from www.rosecitysoftware.com . If you install this
program, make sure you select the "make backups" option during
installation. The "evaluation copy" will only allow SAFE entries to be
    removed .
