Re: PrivaZer 1.7.1 I have nothing to do with computer forensics. I've downloaded ProDiscover Basic software from http://prodiscover-basic.software.informer.com/download/ I used the link "Mirror Download (32-bit)" - it worked. Here is the "The ProDiscover® Family of Computer Security Tools" web-site. http://www.techpathways.com/DesktopDefault.aspx?tabindex=3&tabid=12 More links. WinHex http://download.cnet.com/WinHex/3000-2352_4-10057691.html pyflag Python Forensic and Log Analysis GUI http://code.google.com/p/pyflag/ The official web site for The Sleuth Kit and Autopsy Browser. Both are open source digital investigation tools (a.k.a. digital forensic tools) that run on Windows, Linux, OS X, and other Unix systems. http://www.sleuthkit.org/ But right now, I need to learn how to use. I know that there are a lot of computer specialists at this forum that could answer your question.
Re: PrivaZer 1.7.1 Would it be possible to add the following option? Clean Windows Installer Baseline Cache - Located here "C:\Windows\Installer\$PatchCache$" and here "C:\Windows\winsxs\backup" This can certainly free up plenty of space, as well as clearing out a lot of left over tracks. In my personal opinion, this is definitely a worthy option to have in any cleaner. Very effective and harmless to do.
Re: PrivaZer 1.7.1 does it have something like winappi [ccleaner] to detect other programs ..does it clean flash cookies
Re: PrivaZer 1.7.1 Sure, PrivaZer cleans all kinds of cookies, including Flash cookies. See section "Cookies" in the scan list. Winapp2.ini support may come later, we still have some work to do.
Re: PrivaZer 1.7.1 If not, what about a feature which allows users to add their own directories or files, along with the ability to custom rename the task they want to clean? That way, you don't have to keep adding more cleaning elements to PrivaZer, in turn making it easier on your part and giving the user a lot more control on what they want cleaned out. I don't know, something to think about?
Re: PrivaZer 1.7.1 You can add custom files/folders to securely clean in the scan window of PrivaZer by clicking "modify". See screenshot below.
Re: PrivaZer 1.7.1 Wow, I can't believe I missed something like that. Thanks for the info, I appreciate it. So then, you don't need to add an option to clean out Windows Installer Baseline Cache, I can just add it myself. Geesh, can't believe I completely overlooked this feature.
Re: PrivaZer 1.7.1 Anyway, your suggestions are interesting. It can help us to improve default cleanup and to free up more disk space. So, if you think a folder or a file should be cleaned, please inform us as you did. We do appreciate contributions.
Re: PrivaZer 1.7.1 Question though, if I add the following folders C:\Windows\Installer\$PatchCache$ C:\Windows\winsxs\backup Will it delete the folders or the files that are contained within' the folder?
Re: PrivaZer 1.7.1 It also erases the folders, which they should never be erased to begin with...just tested it. But, since the files within' that folder are different each time...adding this as a custom modification won't actually work. The only way this will work, is if there is a default option to clean out Windows Installer Baseline Cache. Basically, retain the directories, but erase the files that stay within' them.
Re: PrivaZer 1.7.1 Thanks, I appreciate that Keep up the great work I'm really liking your interaction with us....top notch Plus.... PrivaZer rocks!
Re: PrivaZer 1.7.1 Retaining the folder,as you suggested, seems to us the best solution so far. We keep you informed.
Re: PrivaZer 1.7.1 Hello, is command line supported by PrivaZer? For example, I wanted to use PrivaZer in secure deleting contents of Sandboxie, but I need command line for that. See here for a detailed explanation. -http://www.sandboxie.com/index.php?SecureDeleteSandbox
Re: PrivaZer 1.7.1 Not yet but on our roadmap. We will try to have command line support in next release.
Re: PrivaZer 1.7.1 I tried Privazer on my friend's laptop (on Vista 32 bits) and with the task Manager I could see that CPU ressources is very high. Peak CPU ressources can rise up to 82% . Could you please, down this figure ? Thanks in advance.
Re: PrivaZer 1.7.1 I've tried Privazer on Vista 32 bit. Here are the figures with Privazer scanning: Here are the figures with Privazer shredding:
