This afternoon while doing some tests, I noticed that if I copied a malicious URL, from a legitimate website, and then pasted it into Google's search engine, Prevx 3 would present me with the normal black screen telling to close the browser, to protect myself. :D

I wasn't aware it can't make a clear distinction between what's being copied & pasted into some search engine, and actually accessing the URL.

I wonder if WSA also does that? (I'm still not running the beta, and won't be for now.)

It depends on how the page is accessed - Google starts reading data from external pages as soon as you run the search, so it's very possible it's catching it from there.

Also, "running the beta" of WSA isn't really accurate: it's been released live for 6 months ;)

Yes, that's true... But, I don't think Google gave any results retrieved from the said URL. It was quite a few hours ago, so I don't really recall, but I think I only got results from the usual services that provide lists - such as MDL, Phishtank, etc. You may be right, though.

I do mean the beta version, not the trial version. After all, I did reveice a beta key. ;)
