on demand scanner problem

I installed Nod32 AV on my new Win7 64 bit laptop and set it up to do weekly on demand scan at 9am on Saturday mornings. I turned the computer on this morning at about 8:20 and it immediatly started the on demand scan, at the schedualed 9AM time the scan started again so I had two scans running at the same time. I have the task set to "run immediatly if the time since it's last execution exceeds specified interval (24 hrs)". Do I need to increase the specified interval or is there something else not set right. Thanks!

Are you sure this scan on startup was a full on-demand scan and not the system startup scan that is set to run automatically by default? If you don't want this scan to run, you can disable the startup scan.

I would set it to 170 hours. That way if the system is off during the scheduled scan time, the next time the system boots up if it sees that it has been more than 1 week since a successful scan it will execute the job.

According to log files it was definitely was 2 full on-demand scans, one started when I turned the computer on and was still running when the second scan started at the scheduled time.

 

I was thinking about that too, I'll give that a try and see what happens. Thanks for the input.
