    History -
I bought ATI 8.0 within 30 days of 9.0 coming out, so I have serial numbers for both 8.0 and then free upgrade to 9.0

As recommended, I uninstalled previous ATI 9.0 prior to installing the latest build, then rebooted PC.

During installation, was prompted for serial # of 8.0 AND 9.0 - My PC knew I as upgrading. I don't remember being asked to provide both serial numbers before? How does it know I was upgrading? Is something left in the registry even after uninstall?

It probaly is, but those data left upon uninstall do not "know" whether or not you will be installing another version and how it will be obtained.

I rather think that when you upgrade the serial number you receive has this information coded into it.

    Hello arf1410,

When you upgraded to v9 you probably installed over the top of v8. Hence you would only have been required to enter the new serial number. Now, because of a bug in the current installer, you needed to uninstall the previous build prior to updating v9 to the latest build. As you originally obtained an upgrade version of TI 9 rather than a new purchase you are obliged to enter your previous version's serial number again as proof that you really are updating an "upgrade". Otherwise, why would anyone purchase the full price version? :)

    Regards
