They were late with bringing out drivers for the CP too, where as AMD had them ready. It's weird because I usually keep hearing how NVIDIA are "better than AMD when it comes to drivers". Quite frankly I think they both have annoying flaws, we need a better GPU chip company!

Actually NVIDIA does support their hardware better than AMD. New features backported to older hardware, DX11.1 compliance, they're always on the ball with things like CUDA, OpenCL and OpenGL.

AMD is getting better but I've seen issues take ages to resolve especially if you're not a big name developer. With NVIDIA it's a bit better.

The fact is that both companies slip up quite a bit these days but in the end it's really down to how your experience has been working with the hardware! :)

DX11.1 IS Windows 8, so no, they clearly aren't "on the ball" as this article states. They were also way behind AMD in bringing out DX11 hardware. So back to my original statement, I still think they both suck.

NVIDIA is better about support on Linux, but that's about where they lose any edge. Otherwise I agree, both companies aren't anything to write home about.

They might both suck but who is gonna challenge either company to change or become better, no one. So we are stuck to deal with them.

In my experience they are. After 12 years of using ATi/AMD, I finally had to dump them for their drivers. And that infuriating CCC.

I have to agree with this.
