For uninstalling NIS 2009 (or any other application) the best solution I've found is Revo Uninstaller. It will automatically find leftover files and registry entries after the application's uninstaller finishes. Of course there is the Norton Removal Tool, but it should be a last resort.

I would trust the Norton Removal Tool more then any other uninstaller, after all its the official uninstaller from Norton. I have used it a few times now and so far no problems and imcompatibilities with other softwares i try. NRT seems to be also update quite often.

Again a great example how a thread is drifting off-topic direction, and not even that, the bashing anti-Norton clan is also manifest present.

    Thread starter Zombini asked:

The subsequent off-topic and bashing reactions prove clearly that many thread participants misunderstand what he is asking for.

    Regards,

    Smokey

Yes, this thread should be closed. Because clearly this thread is now out of date since NIS2009 has already shipped.

Funny, because when I used Revo in adv. mode it didn't find anything.

Gosh! havent you learned yet, all you need to do is rip its guts out to uninstall :D (i.e Registry Items, Hidden Folder Items, Common Files etc..) Much simpler than Installing crap to do it for you :cautious:
