I have many instalations with Linux Samba server with many Windows clients. There is no need (or customer agreement) to buy and put server NOD32 on Linux, so there is just Windows workstation NODs. We choose one of workstations to check and download updates, i creates mirror on LAN file server.

But, sometimes is hard to decide which workstation is most frequently connected on Internet in order to have as fresh updates as they are released.

    I have two questions.
First, can I configure more than one workstation to create mirrors of NOD updates on LAN server or there will be some conflicts?
Second, can I legaly use just nod32umc utility from Linux NOD instalation just to get and create updates for LAN Windows workstations without buying full Linux server version?

    Hey Gule,

    >First, can I configure more than one workstation to create mirrors of NOD updates on LAN server or there will be some conflicts?

It is theorically possible, but the Control Center wasn't designed for such a behaviour - it's a bit risky - we wouldn't recommend that.

The nod32umc utility is a 'stand-alone' utility and it is an integral part of NOD32 for Linux package. Legal use of this utility is defined in the EULA (End User License Agreement), i.e. if the NOD32 for Linux is deployed on a 'server', and the end-user paid the server license, it can be used to create mirror for the network clients. Otherwise, the end-user might be in breach of the EULA.

    Thanks. :)

Thanks for information. They are not as I wanted to, but I expected such answers.
