Don't know if I'm dumping in the right hole here Folks but if I'am, just say.

Quick question :- Is it possible to rid my lovely 98se of Network N/Hood and free up some useful space?

Not on a network and never likely to be, so why won't MS let one give it the elbow?

All replies under a brown paper cover. ;)

TIA - Cochise Good Old England)

    Hi Cochise,

    Starting spring cleaning already. ;)
You can remove that in the System Policy editor. For Windows 98, it's in the tools/reskit/netadmin/poledit folder. Run poledit, and if you are asked to 'Open a Template File', choose admin.adm in the same folder, then click Open. Next, select File > Open Registry and double-click the Local User icon. Navigate down to Local_User-Shell-Restrictions, and click in the checkbox next to Hide Network Neighborhood. Click OK, then select File-Save. Then restart your computer and you'll be networkneighbourhood free. :)

    Regards,

    Pieter

You can't be fairer than that Pieter.

No point in whining to someone else if you hit yourself on the head with a hammer, what?

Won't do anything that can't be undone. ;)

Best regards Cochise (Good Old England)

    Hi Cochise,

When I give someone a hammer I´ve never tested myself, I tend to be a bit carefull. ;)
