    Hello -

I want to begin imaging a MS Windows SBS 2003 SP-1 Premium server running Exchange, SQL and Sharepoint using Acronis TI Server v8. The server is also a domain controller as it is required with the SBS product.

What is Acronis' position on stopping Exchange, SQL, Sharepoint, and domain controller services prior to imaging the server?

I've reviewed the documentation for TI ES v8, specifically section 5.11 on stopping services. The docs only state "admins prefer it".

If stopping services ensures a successful backup, specifically what services should be stopped before imaging a SBS Premium server? I'd like to use Acronis' recommendations to write a batch file.

    Thank you for your help,
    Al

Thank you for your prompt reply. I have read the posts you referred me to, and I have read the documentation. However you have not answered my questions. I'll restate for clarity:

    - first, does Acronis explicitly support Microsoft Windows Small Business Server 2003 (SBS) and

    - second, if you do, please tell me what services I must shut down and in what order to ensure I will be able to restore the server properly. As I stated in my message above, I want to write a batch file using Acronis' recommendations.

I have installed and tested the software, however I want to understand Acronis' policy and recommendation for the SBS platform.

    Thank you!
    Al

I haven't seen a reply to my previous post. Should I be directing my inquiries to a different group within Acronis?

    Thank you for your help.
