I'm confused (oh, you already knew that!).

Does IE have to be the default browser to get the equivalent of NAV's Live Update to work?

I would think that McAfee VirusScan would have the built-in equivalent of Live Update. What's the browser got to do with this?

i believe mcafee's updater works as long as IE is installed (but it doesnt have to be the default browser). also make sure activex is allowed.

I find best way to use IE is to set Medium level and DISABLE the following:

    "Download unsigned Activex Controls"
"Initialize and Script ActiveX controls not marked as safe"

And set the other activeX options to prompt.

I just set up a system that has IE and Firefox, with IE as the default browser.

I expect to receive VS 10 later today, so firststep is to see if install works in that environment, next to see what has to be set to do MANUAL updates.
