McAfee for Free?

McAfee Products for free?

I know they have these free after rebate offers but offering their products for free….? A couple of online retailers offering McAfee products for FREE. One of them is buy.com. Is McAfee going Free…? LOL. Best Buy sells these for very,very cheap.

Anyway I ordered a couple of them boxes, couldn’t resist.

their server is totally locked up. might be busy??

 

I'm trying for 30 minutes to order and it stays about 15 minutes to load one single page. It's very busy.

EDIT: I got " HTTP/1.1 500 Server Error"

 

A massive server overload. Its posted everywhere thats why.

Web Site Filter in PC-Cillin 2007 show a warning windows when you connect to this site.

 

Man this can't be right this must be a fault or something. If not i will order couple of boxes to for the whole family

 

I don't know why, but buy.com is one of the largest USA online retailers(no worries there).

That’s what I though in beginning. Apparently, it’s legit. Keep in mind Best Buy offer them with huge discount:
VirusScan Plus 2007 = $2
Internet Security Suite 2007 = $6
Protection Plus 2007 = $3

Maybe Mcafee is trying to get new customers to try 2007 version.

Yes but this one is compleetly free. So it properbly cost them money to send it to me in the netherlands

 

It took one hour but I got it McAfee Total Protection 2007

I did have to pay shipping $5.48 but for a $79.00 program I can handle that small amount

 

HUH one hour? DId you download it?? Is it not possible to get the full pack with cd delivered at home?

Do you need a creditcard or something?

 

It will be delivered. It is in a mini box and I did pay the shipping with a card. and it is full version on cd with all manuals.

 

Strange the website states that shipment is FREE !!

 

I chose physcial delievery I didn't want to download it seeing as how slow their web site is.

 

And by the way, free shipping if you qualify can take from 2/4 weeks where as Paid shipping is 3/5 days

 

Hi, folks: Free and excellent programs are very hard to come by these days. I may want to jump on the wagon. However, I do remember McAfee's 2007 lineups have a major bug; fortunately it has been fixed lately. I do wonder these free copies are PRE or POST pathed products. Could buy.com tell us?

 

I really doubt if they could tell you what the version is except what is printed on the box. this offer is good from 09/26/06 till 09/30/06

I got suckerd into getting "free" MacAfee. It was not worth getting.
Don't, get McAfee unless the problem described in http://forums.mcafeehelp.com/viewtopic.php?t=76180&view=previous&sid=9928a331836af6a9d346e04707caeddb has been fixed.

 

Such offers are available most all year long for Norton aV, and I've seen such offeres for Trend Micro.,

 

Most, if not all, online retailers in the USA do not ship internationally.
Especially for security related products.

 

Most rebates are limited to 1 unit.
