Kaspersky Antivirus and Internet Security 2011 Final

just curious when did a 130 MB file become considered light? that is the size of the 2011 CF2 file currently out. I have both installed and uninstalled KIS for several to know what size it is.

 

The installation package's size has nothing to do with how light the actual protection is.

 

normally I would agree however by most accounts it seems 2011 is not the lean and mean suite it used to be. fact is many that used or have it installed can't deal with what it does to slow down their machines .instead opting out for something akin to how KIS used to be.light and mean like ZA,AVG,or ESET.
it is still good no question about it.the others are good too.personal preferences I guess along with the speed issue or lack thereof.obviously I opted for the latter. others went in other directions they're all good.file size Does affect resources especially if they are low to begin with.

 

Agreed, nothing to do with it. Lightness has not been my problem though, stability has. 2011 crashes on me. Back to 2010. 7 and 2010 were great for me. 2009 and 2011 were not. I hope this means next year's will be great.

 

Well, in version 2010 I disabled FileAV because with it enabled it took my PC 8 seconds to launch Firefox, and with version 2011 it launches in 1 second. I don't deny that others are having problems with it (and I've also seen some smaller bugs), but there have been improvements as well.

For me every version except 2010 has always been working quite well. 6.0, 7.0 and 2009 worked best. 2011 has had some smaller issues (slow AppControl GUI for ex.), but 2010 had a lot of them.
