hi,i'm new to the forums and was wondering if anybody had any experience with jap as an anonymity service,

and does it really hide where you surf even from your own isp,as stated in their faq.

Smokey answered some questions I had about JAP here:

    http://www.wilderssecurity.com/showthread.php?t=6800;start=15

    Smokey's conclusion:

Looks to me like a good program but I'm waiting till they get the surf drag problem resolved, I think you will find some drag on surf speed, but anonymity should be protected.

Also if you use proxomitron, sounds like JAP works with proxo from what others have said.

    Hi guys!

I completely agree with the conclusion of Smokey about JAP. I was using it myself for quite a while. Because the speed was very slow I looked for another tool. I found Stealther:

    http://www.photonosoftware.com/Stealther/savelanguage.php3?jump=/Stealther/main.php3&language=eng&reseller=7348

The speed is very good, because you're able to connect just to the fastest proxies. The available proxy list is also updated daily. During surfing you can use:

    -direct mode
    -stealth mode
    -super stealth mode

In direct mode you surf without hiding your IP (fast surfing). In the two other modes you hide your IP, but surfing is indeed fast enough!

Proxomitron is another tool, but not a so called IP-stealther. It has nothing to do with that. It helps you to hide your referrer, block java script, cookies,... A very helpful tool indeed! Further information about it can be found here:

    http://www.proxomitron.org/

German users can even use a more updated version of it (more rules):

    http://www.buerschgens.de/Prox/

If you have further questions about it, don't hesitate to ask!

    Best regards!

    Patrice

    Hi notageek!

It seems, that it's overloaded sometimes... If it doesn't work go to Google and search for Stealther (Photono Software).

    Best regards!
