I downloaded Winbuilder to create a VistaPE boot CD. I chose -vistape.winbuilder.net- inside Winbuilder, but Norton DNS blocks the webpage saying:

    Malicious Web Site Blocked

    You attempted to access: vistape.winbuilder.net

This is a known malicious web site. It is recommended that you do NOT visit this site.

For your protection, this web site has been blocked. Visit Symantec to learn more about phishing and internet security.

    1) linking to malware is against the TOS
    2) That site doesn't look especially legitimate

it's possible that it at one time ahd malware and og tblacklisting and now it's fine. But I wouldn't bet on that.

firstly I am NOT linking to a malware site willfully as I am not sure if it's a false alarm or not. I thought Winbuilder was a SAFE program? Even Softpedia has it and that's where I downloaded it from.

This is norton safe web result, from which norton dns fetches results...

What's being blocked is winbuilder.net, due to -http://amalux.winbuilder.net/

It hosts a port scanner, which is why it's being blocked. Most likely just a false positive.

I wonder if that SuperScan is this -http://www.mcafee.com/us/downloads/free-tools/superscan.aspx o_O

I didn't download the file, mentioned in norton safe web; but it's the only SuperScan tool I'm familiar with.

Bummer... SuperScan is the name of the threat. :D

I don't really care for TOS. I just wanted you to know so that you don't get in trouble etc
