Hello, i'm hoping you guys can answer a few newbie questions. here is my scenario:
I'm building a new PC with a new motherboard and I wish to transfer my data from my current HDD to my new SSD. My question is how will that affect my new motherboard? Will there be a conflict in registies and what not since all the drivers (chipset, video cards, etc.) on my current HDD are specific to the hardware I currently have installed? I really only want the operating system and my games on the SSD and I want everything else to remain on my HDD. How can I do this without creating hardware conflicts with drivers? Thanks guys!

    Can i move games only?

I have decided to do a clean install of windows 7 on my SSD to avoid any hardware conflicts that might arise from migrating the OS since im using a new motherboard. Since I won't need to migrate my operating system, is it possible to migrate my games only? The only thing i want on my SSD is the OS and my games. I mainly purchased this program so i wouldn't have to deal with downloading and installing all of my games again.

no as most games copied in that manner will not work without reinstalling them.

Thats dissapointing to say the least since thats the only reason i purchased this software. I would have thought it possible to migrate games to the ssd as well since it's supposed to make a mirror copy of the hdd. Thanks for the reply, guess i'll be spending half the day reinstalling games and utilities on my SSD. :'(

    1. You can migrate your existing o/s , including installed programs.

You cannot just migrate installed programs to a different o/s.

If you clean reinstalled off the dvd onto a hard drive - that is a different o/s.

That is not what the the software is for.

Some programs might run as executables without requiring installation.

Those that require installation will obviously need to be installed on the different o/s.

    2. The easiest way is to migrate your existing o/s to the new hardware.

Then see if windows boots - it might , depending on the hardware.

If not, there are programs - including Paragon p2p adjust which will fix that.

[ You also need a windows product key that allows you to move it of course.]
