Imon and large e-mail

Today i have got an e-mail with 47 pics attacht (all about 150kB each). I couldn't retrieve this e-mail with Imon enabled.

Got an error message: The server did't react for xx minutes. Do you want to wait or not.

Only after i changed the account settings (popserver, port, username) i could retrieve the message.

This I have read about before, firstly do you run any kind of spam filter?
Second- what connection? dialup or broadband?

Its very odd, I recive every day emails from work in excess of 8meg and have never had any problems, I wonder if you could list your startup programs to give us an idea of a possible conflict.

Also I'm a little confused, you say after changing your popserver,port,and username that emails are ok?

I may be wrong but I thought the new beta versions of Nod32 didnt need specific accoount setting changes?

You are richt. I thought at first Imon changed the settings, but it was K9. Uninstalled k9 and the problems are over.

 

Aha, I was going to suggest K9 as Finn has the exact same problem with large emails! (hence the question of you running a spam filter) K9 suggests chages of your pop3 port to 9999, if you change Nod32's port to 9999 you should be ok, at least it works for me

I've had one problem with a large attachment. After that, I switched the mail port in IMON to 9999, as Tinribs suggests, and haven't had any problems since. But I also haven't had a really large attachment since that time.
