got mine upgraded to 3.0 (free) today...but seems the tray icon all the same..
But I experienced crash(immunet desktop tray crashed) after restart, tho...I'm using norton internet security 2011 with immunet 3.0 (+clamav)

also, the mem usage is slightly quite higher? 50-90MB ...? just normal operation...no scan

I downloaded it last night (got the toaster notification that it was available ... opened the GUI and selected Fix it ... it downloaded and installed).

I have been using the Plus version (for about 5 months) and when I first got it, the scanning function was a bit buggy. There was also confusion about whether I could run the Plus version with another AV or not. Even their forum moderators were giving out conflicting information on this (disable the tetra engine/no enable it). The scan issues of the past have been addressed and I have been running it with the Tetra engine enabled along side MSE. It has run well and does not eat up many resources.

I noticed that ClamAV comes up disabled and the Tetra engine is still enabled. I intend to leave it that way. A full scan took 11 hours and consumed 80% CPU cycles (300K files). After the scan CPU back to 7%. Quick scan after that (used max. 25% CPU). I have seen this happen with other AVs after a rel. upgrade so I am not concerned.

Seriously, 11 hours? 80% CPU? And you use this product full time?

That's what I was thinking. Any AV scanner that takes 11 hours has serious issues.

It's only a stub installer, it will download the correct installer depending on your version of windows. They probably forgot to change the version number on it.

I understand your surprise ... me too! I will be giving it another full scan next weekend to see if this happens again.

NB: I was reading some posts from users of MSE 1, who had upgraded to MSE 2 and they complained that the same thing happened to them when they did the first full scan after the upgrade ( XP system). The following full scans were fast and used no more than 50% of the CPU.

    same situation here...

normally full scan last time using immunet 2.x only takes around 1hour plus on this laptop...but last night when I leave it for full scan using the latest immunet 3.0...it's still havent finish even after like 7 hours scan...and totally made my computer unresponsive.. 80-90% CPU clock usage... and memory usage is around 97MB++

I noticed my laptop became bit much slower...and now I'm going to reinstall immunet if there's any changes..

    Anyone else feel the same?

I hope Immunet support wildcards in exclusion list and I expecting it to version 3.0 and saving all your configuration is a plus...

I've avast home av on this computer, but after installed immunet 3.0 I experienced some issue with it, like others experienced as long scanning, and probably some slowdown issues.

Never have problems with immunet 2.x before tho..

Even if you've paid for a program, no matter what it is, if it's not working well with your system, flick it.

Having an unresponsive computer for several hours a week is similar to having a virus installed.

    a) you're not able to use your computer
    b) you have serious slow downs
    c) it's driving you nuts

Granted the slow downs might not appear in a trial copy, some of us do shell out for products which aren't working as they intended. I'm guilty of it as well.

Plenty of paid products I don't use as they affect my copy and paste. So much so I'd have explorer being unresponsive, and have to reboot. Safe mode everything was flying. Uninstall the security products, change the setup, everything is flying again.

On (some) systems, some AVs are as good as paid-for viruses. ;)

    Great detection.............too:

No AV is perfect. Immunet is a recent antivirus, it is logical that it has bugs. I use it and see a good virus detection.

You can restore quarantined files, adding exclusions, stop protection when installing other software,...

Since the 11 hour marathon full scan on my W7 system (after the upgrade to V3.0), full scans have since taken less than 1 hour. I have the ClamAV engine disabled as I have MSE 2.0 installed and set to real time.

I detest the "MyCommunity" block which takes up 33% of Immunet's GUI & is a complete, total gimmick. The Immunity community covers ALL users. The gimmick of getting a user to "add" a personal community ("MyCommunity") is little more than an effort to get users to hawk the program to friends & family. An individual user's miniscule "MyCommunity" adds nothing -- zilch! -- to Immunet's user-wide community.

I wouldn't mind their using the MyCommunity gimmick if they didn't make it a primary feature of their GUI, thereby proclaiming their contempt for the intelligence of their users.

Thought I'd give it a try. After being conned to try the full version, I had to endure a scan, yet on checking the updates, I find I haven't got anything to scan with. After 20 minutes and still no definitions, I gave up and binned this pretender.

It had quite a few false positives for me as well. That's why I never kept it.
