CuteFTP keeps killing/deleting/quarenteening a crucial support file in a favorite old app I've been using for years.

The (freeware) program was once "ad supported" ("CuteFTP 3.0"), and requires the presence of "advert.dll" in the "Windows\System32" folder. But NOD keeps flagging this as "adware" and refuses to let the program run. Even if I copy the file back, I still get a dialog telling me it "can't find" the dll even though it is indeed still there. o_O

How can I force NOD (latest version) to ignore files I know are safe? (older versions used to have an "exceptions" section).

    Very annoying.

    I should have noted:

I have already specified the particular file under "Exclusion" (in the Advanced Setup Tree), but still the app refuses to run, claiming it "can't find" the DLL. (I put copies in the \Windows\ folder, the "System32" folder (where it expects it), and in the app's own folder. Yet it still says it "can't find" advert.dll. :(

I have no other anti-adware or security apps running. I'm stumped.

(Oops! Another correction, should of said "Can't Load", not "Can't find".)

It seems that it is no longer an ESET NOD32 issue because you have added and exclusion and it is no longer detected . You should now not only recover the file but reinstall the application in case in order to make it work again.
