I'm a recent convert to Firstdefence from Goback - it is now one of my firm favourites but came across this product the other day

It looks similar but is more expensive - http://www.hyperossystems.co.uk/

    Anyone tried it?

    Quick read makes me uncomfortable.

    1. Only one bootable partition, so if that partition won't boot you don't get up. Can't reboot to the other "windows"

    2. Nothing hidden and one "windows can be managed from another" This would make it easy for malware to infect all. This isn't totally impossible in FDISR, but it would be tougher. And even if it did happen, the FDISR archive still gives you backup protection.

I have tested FDISR, including restoring from an archive, and it has been tried and true. While the other programs do offer some advantages, I am sticking with FDISR because of its track record.

I haven't checked out hyperossystems in depth so can't comment in the manner Peter has. BUT, I will just throw out that I've used FDISR for about two years now and it STANDS OUT among all of my software as the most reliable and bug-free that I have ever had. That's exactly as it should be for a backup/disaster recovery type program. It's saved me alot of gnashing of teeth and rending of hair, probably on about a dozen occasions in those two years.

That's the kind of delivery and value very few programs at FDISR's price can claim.

I can't criticize hyperossystems but I can say take Peter's last sentence and multiply it by two.

crofttk points out something that is very interesting: FD stand out as being a very RELIABLE back up program; I don't know of any other program that will have ALL of its user's saying that! People may not like like FD for other reasons, but not for being unreliable, at least none that I have ever heard.

Double Amen. The previous build had a few screwy issues, and it still was totally reliable.
