How to do a CLEAN uninstall of WSA Beta?

Hello all!

I wish to do a COMPLETE uninstall of WSA beta 8.0.1.23 before purchasing WSA Antivirus. I'm a registered user of PrevX3 SOL. My licence is valid till January 2012. And i wouldn't like to be upgraded to WSA Essentials...
Any help to get rid of leftover files and registry entries (root\Legacy in particular)?

Hello Herve,

You don't have to when you get the new license key just install that one it will do a scan and you will have WSA-E features they made it so simple and easy it's the same if you purchase WSA Complete license and install and even the Beta will disappear from the GUI!

It sounds like what you are looking for is a WSA removal tool. I am not sure that one exists yet.

I know that after I installed Webroot SecureAnywhere I forgot that Prevx had one so I downloaded their removal tool and gave it a scrub.

 

You still don't need to the new key you install will turn on the features you paid for it's the same download for all, nice and simple! But if you want to do a clean reinstall just go to Start>All Programs> Webroot SecureAnywhere>Tools> Uninstall Webroot and reboot and install a clean copy put your new key in and it will do a scan then set it up the way you like it!

You don't need a removal tool - WSA fully uninstalls itself. If you reboot after uninstalling, all of the traces will be automatically removed (and the previous configuration options). Prior to the reboot, you'll be prompted to reimport configuration on install as a convenience feature in case a user wants to uninstall/reinstall in the same session.

Just a question if you don't mind.
As my licence for PrevX SOL expires in January 2012, what will happen if the switch to WSA for PrevX customers is not yet completed by this time? Furthermore, if it is completed one or 2 days before expiration, is a discount price for renewal or a favourable limited licence extension of WSA-E scheduled in this case? LOL

I don't believe Prevx has any upgrade discounts available at the moment. If we do have one, I suspect it will be through the upgrade to Webroot instead. If the process to upgrade Prevx users isnt complete by the time your license expires, your best approach will be to purchase WSA directly.
