    Made a backup of a folder in MyDocuments. Destination was on D:\ drive and I didn't use the default backup filename. When I restore the archive I don't see the restored folder in the place I sent it. It was not sent to the original location. It sometime goes to a folder named Recent in C\doc&settings\Admin\ApplicationData\Microsoft\Office\. Is it possible to open and view the archived folder? :-*

    What version and build of True Image are you using? The latest versions will let you examine an archive.

    Version 9.0, (build 2,337). I can check archive integrity. I'm a newbie with backup software. My assumption is that backup is like copy that you can access and edit. On second thought editing backup means you can no longer restore the original information. Can't figure how to open and examine archive or how to correctly restore archive to a new location and view it:eek: .

    Whilst with True Image you can mount (plug) a partition image and explore (but not edit) it, you cannot do this with a file/folder backup. A file/folder backup must be restored before it can be explored. Once it has been restored, then you can obviously do anything you like with it as it no longer has anything to do with TI and is just like any other file.

    Not sure why you can't find the restored archive. If it restored correctly, you should be able to find it in the specified target location. There were some problems with file/folder backup/restore in earlier builds of ATI9, but AFAIK they have been fixed by now.:cool:

    Hello vinn,

    Thank you for choosing Acronis Disk Backup Software.

    First of all, please check each partition of your hard drive by Windows utility:

    - For Windows 9x please use Windows menu Start\Run
    then enter the command "scandskw" and test all drives;

    - For Windows XP please use Windows menu Start\Run, then enter the command "chkdsk c: /r" "chkdsk d: /r" for every partition of your hard drive.

    Note that you will need to reboot your computer in order to scan the system partition.

    Please also download the latest version of Acronis drivers, install it with disabled logging and see if the problem still persists.

    If the problem still persists then please provide us with the following information:

    - Create Acronis Report and Windows System Information as it is described in Acronis Help Post;

    - Make a screen shots of your consequent steps taken during the image restoration process along with the screen shots of Windows Explorer showing the destination folder (so-called "original location") before and after the image is restored;

    - What happens if you restore an image to the new location (other then original)?

    - Describe actions taken before the problem appears step-by-step.

    Please submit a request for technical support. Attach all the collected files and information to your request along with the link to this thread. We will investigate the problem and try to provide you with the solution.

    Thank you.

    Finally figured out solution. The archived file was restored to MyDocuments folder. There I had to open a folder named Drive(C) instead of accessing the file in MyDocuments itself. The path is: F(destination drive):\Documents and Settings\Administrator\MyDocuments\Drive(C)\Document and Settings\Administrator\MyDocuments\RestoredFile.
    Thanks for your help.
