NADA! The ONLY item's I'd be willing to pay for now, or anytime in the future, are classified as internet services or hardware.

Interesting! I need an alternative to MS Office and Open Office is way to big. So, I'll see what happens... :)

    (Thanks for the heads up!)

A pleasant surprise is that most Ashampoo software actually work pretty well. It is definatly worth a look as an alternative to higher priced software.

I'm with you, their burning Studio is great ! Got it from Last Freeware website a year ago. :thumb:

Another last freeware version also to be found on this side is Burnaware, last free edition,i rate it a bit higher then the Ashampoo burner.

    You're very welcome.
Yes, I concur about the usual quality of their softwares, at least for the ones I am using: Burning Studio 6, Photo Commander 5, Ashampoo ClipFinder (freeware). I offer them 5 bucks for Photo Commander 6, will see what happend.
Their old versions are also often available for free or almost free and as magazines downloadable gifts.

Ashampoo main annoyance is their spamming habit, so probably better to use a throwaway email with them.

Hehe, no aknowledgement of my offer yet (they ask for possibly 24h delay), but I now have an email from them offering me a 48hours' rabate on "Ashampoo Photo Commander 6 + Ashampoo Photo Optimizer 2 pour EUR 9.99" (EUR 64.98 regular value). How about for a coincidence!

    EDIT: EUR 9.99 = USD 9.99 (= CAD 16.43!) for their offer.
And they offer to "extend my order" by adding WinOptimizer 4 for free and/or UnInstaller 3 for USD 9.99. Is it a garage sale?

    Interesting.

I am not in the market for any software at the moment, but I always think its worth paying to get support and a warranty/guarantee (regardless if open/closed source).

So my question is, do you get good support from Ashampoo ?

I have emailed them twice with questions about a couple of their products and they answered the same day both times.

Well, being a cheapskate, I bid only $10 for their $59.99 Office 2008 suite. I was turned down. :( But, within the past week or so, I had received an email offer from Ashampoo for the suite at $22.99. So, I decided to just go ahead and order it. I figure that the $22.99 was close to the bottom of what they would accept anyway...

I really enjoy their cheap software, it works well and is simple to use. I'm a cheap skate so i only ever offer a max of $10 but so far i've purchased burning studio, photo commander, and photo optimizer. Plus i've managed to score heaps of freebies from them including office 2006, magical security, magical uninstall and winoptimizer.

Looks like they don't accept less than a specific price for each product. Too bad. I can't make my 0$ offer.:'( :D

PS: I though it was spelled: "too much low"?

In all honesty, and i'm probably not being fair with this assumption, but i do wish they would change their name to something else other then A SHAMPOO.

Odd thing is that their best products are free.

    Glad to hear that.

I have to admit i don't think i've ever used a single ashampoo product except one, and that was way back on Windows 98 so i don't even remember what it was. I do read approvals from users and satisfaction in some their products though. I just wish they would change that name.

Looks like someone is getting desperate, and that goes to show they can't even sell it at regular prices and need people to make a bid.

I've never considered Ashampoo as having good software at all...

    Sorry to say this...

The name is silly as a junie bug, and usually indicates the mentality of the makers are not the sharpest pencils in the box. Unless of course, the developer's last name happens to be Ashampoo, in which case who can argue with that.

I will never bother with this product for the simple reason it's been left in the dust IMO as the likes of AdAware SE and others before it.

There are far better IMO choices available.

I think most of their products are OEM's from other companies. So I doubt Ashampoo pays much for them in the first place.
