Anybody familiar with this program, claiming to successfully fight sobog.f too?

    What's the point ?
It's an anti-spam tool that fights sobig, but nothing else?
It seems to me that there are plenty of alternatives.

In the description on the site it speaks about more filtering and especially this sobig problem as an extra, not as only capability.

Reading lots of more nasties to be expected from this sobig thing on every site and in every newsletter, so it's certainly important to fight it in avery available way.

Nice, very long article you mentioned :)

I'd rather use dedicated tools then rely on extra's like this one. Sobig-scanning is not a feature needed in spam tools. Even my Open source Clamav av-scanner caught Sobig-F the first day it came out. I believe that noone with a decent scanner with daily current signatures (my clam has hourly updates) falls victim to Sobig-like threats.

On the Xterminator site they state that current scanning rates are limited (due to their adding Sobig?), but that there's more to come.

There's more already: in this freshmeat review there are plenty of anti spam options (I suppose most are server based, but there are client based ports available). Competition is hard but I don't see the advantage of adding one specific, perhaps currently usefull, feature. Looks like a FUD argument to me ;)
