ESS personal firewall couldn' install

Anyone know why ESET Smart Security personal firewall failed to install. I tried reinstalling and repaired ESET but still had the same problem after. None of the firewall was enabled and it didn't have the setting to enable it. I got an error message saying:

ESET Personal firewall initialization failed

The Personal firewall is disabled most likely due to its installation being corrupted. We recommend the you install ESET Smart Security as soon as poosible.

I repaired ESET and still had the same problem. BTW, I am trying to install ESET on the server. I don't know if that makes a difference.

Do you see some leftovers from other security programs in your LAN connection properties?

If you see ESET Personal firewall listed even with ESS not installed, please uninstall it as shown in the screenshot.

Also make sure the following files exist:
C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\epfwtdi.sys
C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\epfwndis.sys
C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\epfw.sys

 

Macros, I looked at my local connection properties and ESS personal firewall is not listed there. So I tried installing a fresh copy of ESS again and I'm still coming up with the same error. I'm trying to install ESS on windows 2000 server.

I also installed ESS on windows 2008 server and had no problems.

All the research I've been doing doesn't help...I tried them all.

Hopefully I can solve this issue soon.

I have exactly the same problem, just reinstalled and i get the error "ESET Personal firewall initialization failed"

Any info on how to fix this? Ive tried reinstall, and cleaned leftovers but nothing helps.

Im using latest version 672. and win xp.
