Cannot reach ESET's home page (from UK) at around 23:00 GMT on 5 December. Just had a successful definitions download though, so someone's still there :D

    Anyone else seeing this?

    Try, from a DOS window:

    tracert nod32.com
    &
    tracert nod32.sk

If the trace completes successfully, have a look at your browser settings/try a different browser.

check your hosts file - see if you have a bogus entry in there for nod32.com and other sites - if so, it's a sign you might have an infestation...

what browser - that's the redirect page I think... it should redirect you to the correct "home" page - which is /home/home.htm (I have not idea what the reasoning behind that is... makes no sense to me)... I had issues with 1.05 - 1.07 mozilla sometimes with this hodge-podge redirect system - not had a problem once since Mozilla Firefox 1.5 though...

    regards

    Greg

just use one of the distributor/reseller sites - or even Brian_N's database...

    http://www.nod32.ch/en/index.php
    http://www.nod32usa.com/nod32-updates/
    http://ip2.users.whitehat.dk/

A database permissions problem could be the host messing with things, or the webmaster making changes and not checking things thoroughly... or a dozen other reasons, but it's not a serious issue, until then there are plenty of other places to check update info...

Both Brian_N's site and ours has RSS feeds for the updates too... we have feeds for:

    virus definitions
    threat database entries
    worm/trojan cleaners
our news database which is aggregated articles from around the net on threats & malware, plus Eset and NOD32 news...

While I can't promise that database errors like the Eset one WON'T happen to our system, web systems is what we do - so it's not like it's a secondary system we have to watch!
