    I don't know.
Currently I don't have the time to look at it further.
I guess that I'm going to put back a back image from last night.
I have already downloaded the full off-line installer.
But don't have the time right now.
Hopefully ESET will fix it asap.
To all: keep us posted please.

Terrible quality control by Eset. Users should not be asked to download pre-release updates
    on production machines.

If you haven't already updated, my advice is to download the full 11.1.42 version. Then install on top of your existing version. I did so and have had zip issues.

Which regular update? Which module update (I assume it was then a module update)?

    Thank you Kent !!

I did indeed so. After the original mess, I had no time for the computer. After I came back on the computer, I restored a backup-image from last night, and then used the full offline installer. After that, I did let the modules further update.
Looks like the issue is now gone indeed.

I'm very glad that the option to disable the notification "ESET LiveGrid is not accessible" is back again.
I suppose that it was fixed in Configuration module (33): 1659.1 (20180315).
There were postings about it in this thread in replies 80 - 85.
    Thanks Marcos!

    @FanJ,
Set Update type to "Regular update", NOT "prerelease".
Then click "Check for update" in lower right corner of update page.

Ah, OK, thanks. I misunderstood you, sorry! (very long time ago that I used pre-release updates; I don't use them anymore).
Anyways, it looks like that the initial issues we had earlier today are now fixed.

FYI: There are some interesting threads at the Eset forum recently about LiveGrid.

    1. Changed LiveGrid Behavior Under Ver. 11.1.42
    https://forum.eset.com/topic/15032-changed-livegrid-behavior-under-ver-11142/

    2. Internet Security 11.1.42 LiveGrid send samples even if it's disabled in settings
    https://forum.eset.com/topic/15031-...end-samples-even-if-its-disabled-in-settings/

    =====

And there was a post by Marcos in https://forum.eset.com/topic/15027-eset-internet-security-v1101599-update-to-v11142/
    Marcos posted there yesterday :
I don't know what Marcos exactly meant there (sorry, sometimes exact wording is needed).
I was just able to download the full offline installer of Eset Internet Security (64-bit) : eis_nt64.exe
It has exactly the same checksums as the one I downloaded on 19 March.

    Version 11.1.42.1

I just got it automatically offered. Reboot required.
I don't know what has been changed.
So the version number went from 11.1.42.0 to 11.1.42.1
According to the version numbering system, see kb2256, the change should be in: repacked or localization.
More than that I don't know.

    Change log for Version 11.1.42.1
From Marcos at Eset Forum :
"Fixed issue with webcam protection and registration as a new class. There were issues after upgrade (not with fresh installs) and web cameras on Windows 10 Fall Creators Update. That said, the changes don't affect ESET NOD32 Antivirus which doesn't contain the Webcam protection feature."

The ESET website download section shows that the Internet Security 11.0.159.9 is the latest version but when I download either the 32 or 64 bit versions, the previous version 11.1.42.1 is downloaded instead. Anyone know what is up with the new version or when it will be available?

In a recent post at the Eset forum foneil (from ESET) posted: "Current version of the installer is now 11.0.159".
    See: https://forum.eset.com/topic/15197-re-installed-eset-internet-security/

    I have version 11.1.42.1 installed.

    Edit:

The changelog for version 11.1.42.0, which I posted here on 19 March 2018, came from the Eset site https://www.eset.com/int/home/internet-security/download/
However that site is now showing version 11.0.159.9.
    See screenshot:

    Eset_2018-04-09_01.png

    Have they pulled 11.1.42.0 and/or 11.1.42.1 ? I don't know.
    I don't know what's happening at Eset ...

They did pull it, I installed EAV using the latest online installer 2 days back and it installed 11.0.159.9 and when I check for updates after installing it, it says it is up to date.

Thanks Phoenix for your reply (and confirming what I was thinking) !

I wished that Eset would be more open about such things and the reasons why and what to expect now and what users with 11.1.42.X are supposted to do now.
And, eh ..., better QA before non-beta versions are published.

There is no mention on the Eset forum that users should download a prior version from their website.
The issue seems to be with LiveGrid as discussed in this thread:
    https://forum.eset.com/topic/15032-changed-livegrid-behavior-under-ver-11142/
A bit of guidance from Eset would be helpful. Do they intend to issue a module(s) update
or should we download a prior version from their website?
