ESET Firewall clarification...

Yo, I just want to clarify what I read about with the ESET firewall modes under FAQ. Is the "Automatic Mode" it says "Automatic mode uses no predefined rules" so then it overrides the rules that I placed under Policy-based settings? just want to clarify that. also another question, Is there a way to disable the firewall every OS startup?? thanks.

Automatic mode :
- allows all the outgoing traffic from any application that has bypassed the antivirus/antispyware scanning
- blocks any unsolicated incoming data/traffic

No exactly . A workaround is to use Policy-based mode and create a rule to allow all the traffic from and to all machines . It will ask you that it is "too general" rule , however you confirm you want it .

If you do not want to use ESET's firewall at all , the best solution , however , would be to uninstall ESET Smart Security and install ESET NOD32 Antivirus only :

Your license of ESS allows you downgrade to EAV only.

 

(1) Automatic (I thought) Doesn't care/isn't Aware of Policy-based/Interactive Rules vs. Overrides them -- whereas Rules made in Interactive CAN work when Policy-base is Selected..........

(2) Policy-base selected with Allow All Outbound/ Allow Initiated Inbound (Put Chk in Rules boxes) IS Automatic's configuration so that any Rules YOU Then make override the more general setup of Policy-base pretending to be Automatic.
Tiptaps, where does that fail your needs since it reads that you've made Rules in Policy-base and then Moved to Automatic ("so then it overrides the rules that I placed under Policy-based settings")? It would seem (2) is precisely what you want although no real issue/need/goal is defined.

(3) Why do you want to Disable FW at each App startup?

(4) If Automatic won't allow UN-initiated Inbound OR multiple outbound (K-base/FAQ says Only One Allowed vs. Bit Torrent multi) How can any FAQ say there are No Predefined Rules (i.e.) Automatic just sits there brainless? Where is this stated?
