I often read digital articles and ebooks, often forwarded by friends. To insure that PDFs are secure, I regularly upload my files to VirusTotal. It just occurred to me that there maybe is a potential security threat also with EPUBs. VirusTotal does not mention the format among the ones it scans. A brief search online brought me to the following conclusions: yes, an EPUB file can contain malicious code typically (so far) the format is ignored by malware creators I could not find any scanners that explicitly mention EPUB as I even found a book on malware analysis that specifically mentions EPUB https://www.buecher.de/shop/systema...ew/products_products/detail/prod_id/48875748/ I would appreciate any knowledgeable comment about the actual threat exposure, and specifically any mention of a scanning resource
