EMI's Copy Control...does it install malware?

    Sorry if this is not the right forum....been busy ripping my daughters CDs to her new MP3. It was not until I had problems that i noticed that Coldplays X&Y album has Copy Control on ot to stop duplication. Im not askling how to bypass it or anything..Im concerned that it may have installed something on her PC as its the same company as Sony. Cant find anything specific on the web to answer the question. Any here help please?

    PS Her machine is not connected to the net so no online scanners etc:p
