Is it possible to configure MRU-Blaster so that it doesn't delete XP's start menu most used programs list?

The XP list of most recently used programs is stored in the UserAssist data area. Unchecking the "Windows UserAssist MRUs" in Settings will prevent this list from being cleared.

    Hi lopardo,

LowWaterMark is right, but because I wanted the other UserAssist items cleaned, I dragged the shortcuts to my favorite programs into that list.
When you click the Start button and look at that list there is an almost invisible line in there. As long as you drop the shortcuts above that line they will stay there until you choose to remove them.
I like it better that way and wanted to let you know you have that option as well.

    Regards,

    Pieter

Thank you for the good info on how to disable this option.

One thing I'm noticing however, in my case, is that once the UserAssist area has been cleaned, most commonly used programs will no longer show up in the start menu at all. I have, of course, disabled the "Windows UserAssist MRU's" option. Unfortunately no matter what I select, nor how many times I select it from the Start -> All Programs list, the programs will not show up.

Any ideas or suggestions on what might be wrong and how I might fix it? Thanks in advance!

Have you ever run any tweaking programs to disable the logging of User Assist (aka. User Tracking) data? For example, if the key shown in this reference (link) is set, no new User Assist data is captured, so things like commonly used programs won't be updated.
