    I have, well had three licenses for your software. I couldn't/can't access the page where my license keys were so it looks like that's gone up in smoke.

    You say you were in an accident, bad news, but I find it hard to believe no one could come to your official support forums or even the web site to either mention you'd had an accident or at the very least to say there was an issue out with your control but for customers not to worry as you'd be back as soon as.
    Couldn't you talk? Someone could have informed your customers.
    Are you the companies only staff member?

    Since I couldn't get access to your website for my license keys I had to purchase other software.

    I won't be purchasing this new software as I don't like being let down in the manner that I was. An accident is unavoidable, not keeping your customers informed was imo.

    Good luck with your new software.

    What gets me is when he went MIA in December of 2006 there were complaints here about people paying for their licences and not receiving them and yet his website has operated all this time with no doubt many more running into the same problem and he is yet to offer any explanations or apologies to ripped off customers on his website or here.

    Very interesting, I was early fan of Process Guard since v.1.3 and v.2.0, v.3.x but then it became a little bit outdated and vulnerable against several unhooker trojans.

    Very interesting these informations and good to see DCS back.

    Yes would be really interesting if the software will support Vista64. Actually I think Vista64 has still a lot open doors, using a good configured XP makes a more secure impression then using a fresh Vista64, imo.

    This is what has infuriated me to no end. If there was any concern at all for unwitting customers, it would have been done a long time ago.

    Totally agree. Anyway as for myself, I will apply this simple rule: "You can get burn once but not twice".

    I think he is testing the waters here to see if he can get some beta testers for his new product.

    Re: File Version & Malware Report Issues

    Wayne, I am glad you're back and I wish you the best recovery possible.

    I have discovered issues with Port Explorer versions and online scan reports of possible malware regarding a "bonus download" DiamondCS made available to me after I recently purchased my 2nd Port Explorer license.

    Weeks ago I posted details about these issues at http://www.windowsbbs.com/showthread.php?t=72367

    ==========
    Issue #1: Port Explorer Versions

    According to http://www.diamondcs.com.au/index.php,
    Today, I downloaded Port Explorer from DiamondCS. I checked the version information for that pesetup.exe file in Windows Explorer and also with a file information utility called FileAlyzer. The version reported is 2.0.0.0 for today's download of pesetup.exe (not v2.1 as indicated in the DiamondCS information I quoted above).

    The pesetup.exe I downloaded/installed in August 2006 is v2.1.1.0 which appears to match the DiamondCS information I quoted above.

    It appears somewhere along the line DiamondCS made an older version currently available or did not properly update the file version information for the current pesetup.exe file.

    ==========
    Issue #2: Suspected Malware in "Bonus Downloads" Offered by DiamondCS

    After purchasing my 2nd Port Explorer license, the email that contained my serial number for the license contained a link to a "Restricted Access FREE bonus downloads!" area at the diamondcs.com.au web site specifically for new purchases of DiamonCS licenses.

    One of the "bonus downloads" made available was filestrings.zip (password-protected).

    When I used WinZip to extract the contents of filestrings.zip, Norton AntiVirus (virus definitions 2008.03.30.003) alerted me that "Auto-Protect has detected Trojan.Nebuler".

    That day (March 30, 200:cool:, I uploaded fstrings.exe (the executable file contained within filestrings.zip) to Jotti's Online Malware Scan and VIRUSTOTAL. Several of the anti-virus/anti-malware applications flagged fstrings.exe as malware.

    Today, I submitted fstrings.exe AGAIN to Jotti's and VIRUSTOTAL. Here are the results.

    ~VirusTotal/Jotti results removed per Policy. - Ron~

    Given the apparent nature of the fstrings.exe application, one might expect a false positive.

    If this is indeed a false positive, then I am surprised several anti-virus/anti-malware applications flagged the fstrings.exe file as malicious.

    ==========
    In my opinion, DiamondCS needs to address these issues. I will be wary about DiamondCS until these issues are addressed.

    Good to se youre back Wayne! Processguard was the software that introduced me to windows security and drove me to to HIPS swamp :)
    Im past that now, but if you ever decide to make PortExplorer Vista ready I´ll gladly pay for it again. I really miss that program.

    ~Comments removed. - Ron~

    I am still suspicious of DiamondCS. I have a hard time believing that the same people who ran it are running it now. I believe that DiamondCS needs to go through a vetting process.

    At the moment I am not buying the whole "I was in an accident" story. No one here has been able to get any services or response from DiamondCS.

    Other questions I have are, who was managing the site while Wayne was away? Who authorized the changes and why?

    Now I have wished our fallen Hero well it is time to show us he is a man of his word, or is this just another elaborate con. Time will tell, lets hope it is the former. Can Wayne avoid the situation that lead-up to his losing the DiamondCs Forums..I hope so. Now it is up to Wayne and Company.

    Nice as it is that you are back and that I'm pleased to hear you have recovered, I'm sure everyone on here would be grateful if you could answer that question from Antarctica. I'm sure you could have asked someone, your Engineer colleague or one of the above to say a few words on here to let us know.

    I am wondering if you are not on to something Mele20. I see he only posted the one day and then disappeared again.

    I wouldn't place much value in ratings by bestsoftware4download.com and bestvistadownloads.com
    I realize SiteAdvisor is not always accurate but I still use SiteAdvisor to help me make informed decisions. ;)

    I downloaded that bsectexp.zip from DiamondCS. Then I extracted bsectexp.exe from the ZIP file and uploaded bsectexp.exe to Jotti and VirusTotal.

    In keeping with Wilders Forum Policy, I will not post details here about the Jotti/VirusTotal scan results. :blink: Suffice to say that several of their AV applications flagged bsectexp.exe as "malicious".

    I do not think I am violating any Wilders policy by posting a link to PrevX information about bsectexp.exe.

    Wayne, at the very least, I think you should submit your applications to AV companies for white listing.

    In my opinion, you should take care of issues involving DiamondCS' existing customer base about DiamondCS' current applications before you continue pumping out other new applications. People have issues and have asked many questions that apparently have gone unanswered. If you take the time to remedy those issues and answer those questions, then I think those efforts will go a long way toward restoring the trust we/they had in DiamondCS.

    I downloaded it just now ~snipped off-topic forum policy comments~ Avira wouldn't even let me unzip it and quarantined it. From what I can see almost all AV companies detect this as a trojan ~snipped off-topic forum policy comments~

    The Wayne Langlois that I knew would never have been this sloppy. He would have submitted it to the AV companies for white listing. It is not as though only FP happy Avira and one other AV detects it where Wayne might not have thought about submitting it. Almost all detect it.
