Can´t get the D-Link SharePort USB Network utility to work with Eset. I use the D-Link DIR-655 wireless router with a external hard drive connected to the usb-port. It works with both firewall and antivirus unactivated (haven´t tried just antivirus) and I have tried opening various ports in the firewall, but don´t have a clue how to get to work. I have the newest firmware for my router and all that should be ok. Any ideas? o_O

I have the same problem, but only on my laptop running the 32bit version of ESS 4. Shareport works fine on my desktop running the x64 version. Settings are the same, so I don't know why it isn't working in 32bit. For now I just disable the firewall to use the Shareport device (my printer).

I spoke too soon. Eset upgraded the firewall module to 1044 on x64 and now it is blocking Shareport. I have test mode enabled in my update settings.

I use the Shareport technology with my DLINK wireless router and have discovered an issue with the Microsoft 1 Care AV/Firewall product. If enabled, the shareport software is unable to detect the wireless presence of a device. I have researched and am unable to determine what port #'s need to be configured for access to bypass with permission the firewall, which I am sure is the cause of the failure. Any help here? I have the DLink N/G wireless router manufactured in January of this year, a 655 I think. o_O

Just an update, a reboot "fixed" my problem and Shareport is working again.

Shareport is not the most reliable program ;)
I'm also a 655 owner and I like the features but Sharepoint stability must be improved.

After reading this topic a little while ago I didn't want to run into problems, so I postponed my ESS try-out. But now that I know there isn't any problem I will surely test ESS soon.

Shareport is still not working with the 32-bit version of ESS. I got it to work by opening some ports that Shareport suggested to open (can't remeber exactly what they were, maybe 7303) and 9303 that I found from another forum, found here . After that Shareport worked with both ESET firewall and antivirus on, but after a reboot the external hard drive was again not found. Any ideas? In a household with three computers a shared hard drive that would be always at access would be nice..

I took a risk and updated the firmware to the US 1.30 beta on my EU router (lost my warranty) and installed the new Shareport PC utility and it just works with ESET and NOD32. No problemo, I have ESET firewall in interactive mode and accepted the traffic requests ESET prompted for. The Shareport PC Utility looks nice and has some new features. Only problem I had with the firmware update is that after restoring my settins to my DIR-655 my password wasn't valid anymore, but I will reset once I have a chance and make my settings manually again. :D
