    Hello,
I recently downloaded the free ZoneAlarm 3.7. I do find it good as I am not clever when it comes to setting things up.
However, since installing ZA I am finding that if I switch my printer on before my pc everything is fine. If I switch my printer on after my pc then I immediately lose my internet connection. I have a 'Correct Connect' facility which tells me:- MONITOR TCP/IP stack is not bound to a NIC.
I have Broadband via a cable modem (AMBIT USB Cable Modem).
Can anyone advise (In simple terms) please.
Maybe I will just have to learn to remember to switch printer on prior to pc.
    Thanks,
    Rosie :)

    Hi Rosie,

I could be the firewall, even though this would be strange. Is your printer connected to your computer directly or is it a network printer? What cable do you use to connect the printer with your computer (a network cable or a normal printer cable)? If you would use a network printer, you would have file and printer sharing enabled. Then it would be more logical that you cannot access it. But if you don't, it's strange.

    Regards,

    Patrice

    Hi Patrice,
No, my printer is connected directly to my pc.
I have no problems if I switch the printer on before switching on my pc. I have only experienced the problem since installing the firewall.
    Regards,
    Rosie :)

    Hi Rosie,

mhh... may I know what printer you use? And is there anything in the log section of ZA when you start your printer after your PC? I would also like to know more about Monitor TCP/IP stack -when does it show up exactly? Last but not least do you have printer and file sharing enabled?

    Regards,

    Patrice
