Converting NTFS

As I understand it, the range of conversions will be increased in future.

Can anyone tell me if/when it will be possible to convert a (Windows XP Home) NTFS partition to FAT32 please?

Thank you for choosing Acronis Partition and Disk Managing Software.

Please be aware that Acronis Disk Director Suite 10.0 does not allow you to convert FAT32 to NTFS file system or vice versa. This feature will be included in future, but I'm afraid that the exact time frame is not decided at the moment.

But you can perform this operation by creating a small NTFS partition and merging another FAT32 partition to it. Then your source FAT32 partiton will change its file system to NTFS.

I want to save my XP NTFS data to FAT32 so that I can share it with the Linux I will be adding.

I'm sorry I forgot to mention that you are also able to merge an NTFS partition to a FAT32 partition.

Please be aware that merging an NTFS partition to a partition with file system not supporting security options (for example, FAT32 partition), will result in loss of security settings (partition ownership data and access permissions).

With the opposite action (merging a non-secured partition to the secured one), the target partition security settings will be assigned to the resulting partition.
