As I had problems updating my licensed copy of Ewido 3.5 this morning, I used the Signature Cleaner, and rebooted my PC.

I still get connection error 10054.

I can access other sites without problem, but would like to have the protection of Ewido back again pleasae.

The last sig update was yesterday, probably due to server problems.

If you have wiped out the database by using the Sig cleaner you need to reinstall the entire sig base, which you can do manually by downloading from here:-

    Hi,

There is really a problem with our servers at the moment. We're actually working on it.

    We're sorry for this inconvenience.

    Uugghhh.

I too have had update problems.

I've had Ewido Plus for quite a while, and had no problems. Came back from vacation yesterday, and would not update.

Used the cleaner tool, and then I had no database signatures and it still would not update.

As Topper instructed, I downloaded the entire database, and at first, it told me that it could not find Ewido on my computer....uugghhh.

It did something and installed something, and now I apparently have signatures back. But my Ewido status screen says my last update was 18 Dec 05.

Anyway, everybody deserves time to fix things when they break....and I believe Ewido is working the issue. I just hope they get it fixed soon.

    Thanks everybody!

I found that when I could log on to the Ewido site, the complete signature file referred to by TopperID and installed it. Glad to know the problem is at Ewido and not in my PC! At least they are expert is solving difficulties.

Hmmmmm..... mine still does not work.

I now have been getting the message that "an automatic update is now in progress, please try again later."

Problem is, this message has been the same for about 4 hours.

But again, as I stated somewhere else, patience is in order here. If this condition lasted for weeks, it would be time to reassess Ewido. If it lasted for days, it would be annoying. If it lasts for less than a day, that's just part of the operating glitches that periodically strike every operation..

    Looking forward to Ewido 4.

The automatic update in progress message is a bit buggy... Could you please close the main program + guard and start them again? Now it should work... This is also something to be fixed in 4.0... :)

    That worked.

I'm back in business and currently running a scan.

Thanks Fish (peter.ewido = Fish, right?).

I credit the Ewido team for being responsive to this and most concerns I've seen raised at this site. :thumb:

    Hi Frank,

Yes Peter was Fish before. He's at the moment out of office so I'm responding to your question ;)
