CentOS is dead, long live ... now wait a moment! Here's a review of CentOS 7 running in an eight-boot setup, with focus on relevance and usability in 2021, covering full software update, third-party repos and extra applications, new kernel, heavily customized desktop experience, stability, performance, nostalgia effect, and more. Come, come.

Take the migration script provided by the various RHEL clones on offer and there are some changes in branding and repos when you do the switch. Beneath the facade, its still all Red Hat.

"Makes me feel a bit less sad about CentOS 8. Just a little."
    A few tears here ....
    :)
7 still my go to baseline
    Stripped and updated: all good
Just like an old car: still works, no real need to change "just because"
