    Hi,

I was using Nero Burning ROM, but now it seems that they want to have a bloatle software and I'm thinking of change it...

I'm trying the DeepBurner Free version and it's very nice, of course that have much less features than Nero, but for CD/DVD data burning seems very good...
For burning copies and images I will stay with the great Alcohol 120%...
For audio I use the also great jetAudio...

Do you have some suggestion to replace Nero better than DeepBurner?

    Regards

For regular burning try BAO which is free and uses CDRDAO, it can be found at www.burnatonce.com and for audio, nothing comes close to EAC at www.exactaudiocopy.de

I gave up on Nero from version 5x when it ceased to be a burning software and turned to a Jack of all trades suite, not with Nero 7x at 100MB, I for one would never go near it.

I totally agree with you on this one, plus i've had an issue with Nero writting a corrupt disct (did'nt even report an error with errors reporting on. I downloaded a trial of clonecd and it reported a crc error. Was very annoyed with Nero. Now use Clonecd in the office, and use UltraISO to create imagesl.

EAC is awesome for getting top qaulity audio rips.

Never tried BAO, cheers for the heads up on that.

BAO seems a nice program, but DeepBurner have a much better GUI and all the features for data burning and more...
About EAC, I already use it some time ago, but since I use jet Audio to listen music, and this program is very good on rip and record audio, I decided to use only one program, instead of having diferent programs that does the same...

But they are a good alternative, thanks ;)

    Hi,
You ca also try CD Burner XP Pro, a freebie.
Although the name is CD, the program burns DVDs and DVD images without any problem. A very orderly and fresh program. Nice GUI.

I use Roxio Media Creator 7.5 and works very well for all of my needs!!

I did try Version 8 but it is a Real Resource Hog now, so I got a refund and I will stick with Version 7.5!

    Cheers,

Please notice that the Ashampoo burner didn't give me a coaster since I've started to use it (for about 5 months now, it totally replaced Nero two months after install). And you can make a bid on what you want to pay for the software. And believe me, they go quite low, so go for it ;)

    Hi Stevie :)
The difference is that if you register your e-mail you will be sent a Key for 30 days which will unlock the full program. However if you just download the software and use it without registering it you will not get the full program but you can still use it for 30 days

    Regards

The key will give you a 30 or 40 day full trial :)
