Bootable Floppy

I have a old machine that has a CD-ROM, but cannot boot from CD. I am looking for a work around:

1. Does Acronis have a bootable floopy solution that allow you to boot initially from floppy and then bootstrap to the CD-ROM?

2. If not, can I restore using the following procedure (assume that I am backing up to a USB hard disk):

a) Reinstall XP Home using the XP bootable floppy.
b) Reinstall Acronis TrueImage
c) In Windows, launch TrueImage and restore from the external drive.

I have an old system as well where I have done this. I used it for Linux install, but should work for Acronis. I will look for a link, but it is called Boot From Any CD. If I have to, I can create the floppy image and send it to you. Then you use rawwrite to restore.

 

Update. I did creaate an img of the floppy, and the rawwrite program is only 280K so let me know if you need it.

Thank you for your interest in Acronis Disk Backup Software.

Please be aware that Acronis True Image 9.0 allows you to create special Bootable Rescue Media on either CD-R/RW disc, several formatted diskettes (the bootable media wizard will tell you the exact number) or any other media your PC can boot from, such as a Zip drive for example.

You can find more information on how to create Bootable Rescue Media and use Acronis True Image 9.0 in the respective User's Guide.

If that does not answer your question(s) then please describe the desired actions in more details.
