Since I have started using BitDefender 9 Standard again, and my subscription is coming due in March, I've been thinking about BD 9 Pro. I am using it along with ZoneAlarm Free. I would like to know from any BD Pro users, how good is the firewall. How would you compare it to the stand alones like ZA? Is the firewall worth the extra money, or should I just stay with BD Standard and free ZA? Money is not a problem, I just don't want to pay for something that is not as good as what I'm using.

I recently tried out the BD Suite for a while and the firewall seemed "ok" as firewalls go. But I can't help but think that you would be best off with separates, ZA Free and BD Std. BD specializes in AVs but not firewalls, so you can probably expect a better offering from someone who's primary product is a firewall, in this case ZA.

Yeah I like the seperate firewall, AV setup. I thought I would check just to make sure I wasn't missing something by not using BD's firewall.

    Thanks Kerodo. :)

Yeah, maybe. I gave the beta a try. It didn't perform very well on my computer. Slowed it down too much. Maybe when the final comes out I'll try it again.

Bitdefenders Internet Security has the option of stealthing ports only as compared to the other versions such as bitdefender pro plus and its firewall is just okay as compared to the bigwigs like Zone Alarm or Sygate and many others. Its antivirus is top notch as everybody knows that but its firewall surely needs a lot of improvement.
