I just ran a Scan Whole Computer (WinXP Home/SP2/IE7) with AVG...took approx. 1 hr30 mins. to complete. It listed "Threats found" = 0. However, here is what the scan showed - several of the following:
    File: HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\ActiveX Compatibility
    Result/Infection: Adware.Internet Optimize
    Adware.Generic
    Adware.Virtumonde
    Adware.SecureServicePack
    Adware.TitanShieldAntispyware
    Adware.Vundo
    Trojan.BankAsh.g
    Trojan.Singu.s
    Trojan.KillAv.F
    Trojan.Ciadoor.m
    Trojan.Zlob.f
    Downloader.delf
    Downloader.small.ain
    Hijacker.SpyAxe
    Logger.Sters
    Logger.Goldun.an

This is just a partial list of the results/infections found...all in the same HKLM \Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\ActiveX Compatibility files.
There are some "strings" attached to the files which seem to be registry entries(??). None of the above were placed by AVG in the Virus Vault..and if it says "Threats found = 0" then I don't know what to make of the results.
Should I be concerned - why is AVG showing these as "results/infections"?
Also, I have disabled ActiveX controls in IE, and keep getting annoying popups from Windows IE "one or more ActiveX could not be displayed because your current security settings prohibit running ActiveX controls on this page". How can I disable this IE popup warning?
Many thanks for any and all help.

    Hello vickie,

Are you also using SpywareBlaster, spybot search & destroy ,..? Please take a look here:
http://www.grisoft.com/ww.faq.num-1198#faq_1198 So you will see that it aren't real threats. But a prevention that was applied by one of your antispyware programs.

    Best regards
    Niels

i have been testing avg sp1 and this issue is fixed.
For now just ignore the active x compatibilities

AVG will be pushing a large update soon through your updates to fix this.
