"An iPhone App That Protects Your Privacy—For Real This Time... The Guardian Firewall app runs in the background of an iOS device, and stymies data and location trackers while compiling a list of all the times your apps attempt to deploy them. It does so without breaking functionality in your apps or making them unusable. Plus, the blow by blow list gives you much deeper insight than you would normally have into what your phone is doing behind the scenes. Guardian Firewall also takes pains to avoid becoming another cog in the data machine itself. You don't need to make an account to run the firewall, and the app is architected to box its developers out of user data completely..." https://www.wired.com/story/guardia...=owned&utm_campaign=wired&mbid=social_twitter
I'm sceptical. From the reviews in the App Store I read that the app is not configurable. And that the app is sending all my data to their server makes me shudder. Not to mention the its high price. I prefer AdGuard Pro which also filters the net requests from other apps by applying a local VPN and using numerous filter lists. And you can easily create your own rules by inspecting its log.
I'm using Privacy Pro SmartVPN (Disconnect) and it's free plus configurable, but also blocks trackers system wide, so i will continue to use it. Maybe this could be good alternative, but i like to configure my protection settings so maybe i will try this sometime, but for now Disconnect is good for me.
I have a different problem with iPhone. It does not matter what browser I'm using, in order to clean all cookies, history, etc..., I need to go to (if it's Safari) Settings, scroll to Safari, open it, scroll to clean, etc... Here is what I mean. Let's say, the last web-page I visited was my Bank. I've closed the browser. When I opened the browser, it's again my bank's web-page, with all those cookies, etc... I want to be able to close the browser, and all my history, cookies, etc.. are cleaned, and I can start the browser "fresh", from scratch.
