Advice on removing IE8

I am having difficulty with my Yahoo home page appearing in IE8 as it should. The problem is it is not aligning to the left as it should. So I am considering removing IE8 with Revo Pro and then installing IE8 again. Is this something that could cause me more problems than it is worth or should it work fine? Obviously, I could just start using another home page but I enjoy Yahoo as my home page. I have tried using the Microsoft Fix It but it will not load. Any recommendation or suggestions would be most welcome and I would thank you in advance.

Without any proof, I feel that IE is so integrated with the OS that attempts at "removing" it are more likely than not to cause problems. IE is not a standalone browser.

 

I agree. I'd love to uninstall Internet Explorer. But until M$ swears up & down it won't bork my Windows. I won't do it. Just a thought if I get real bored. I'll take an image & try it. LOL.

 

Yeah, another vote here against removing it. Who knows what might happen. Better to leave it alone and try other options, or perhaps another browser.

 

I wouldn't uninstall IE 8 if I were you, in fact, I didn't think it was possible. Apart from either rolling back to IE 7 or upgrading to IE 9 (unless you are running XP) I would recommend another browser.

 

In Windows 7, IE8 can´t be uninstalled. The best "solution" is, of course, to upgrade to IE9.

 

both www.yahoo.com and www.my.yahoo.com both align to center for me on multiple systems. i dont think its suposed to align left now on the email page yes it goes to the left

 

How do I uninstall or remove Internet Explorer as a troubleshooting step?

 

I appreciate very much the replies I received. After reading each I have decided that in my case it would be much better to just live with the home page aligning as it is. To the best of my recollection the alignment problem didn't start appearing until Yahoo redesigned their page so that most likely is the reason. I have no doubt that sooner or later I will end up taking my pc into the shop so I will wait and mention it to them. Thanks to each and everyone of you for the information you provided.
