I purchased a new Dell Dimension 5150. It is a Pent 4, 3.0 ghz, 512K ram, an SATA 160 gb hard drive running Windows XP (Home).

I installed True Image 9.0, made a backup and created an emergency rescue disk. When I went to test the rescue disc, on loading I get the message
    "ata2: disabling port"

Thereafter, Acronis continues to load, presenting the main page. However, the computer is frozen at this point and the only way to reboot is to turn the power off and back on.

I have written support today and have not yet heard back from them.

Any help shall be sincerely appreciated. BTW, I am using build 2283 which was very stable on my previous machine.

    Many thanks.

The first thing they are going to do is tell you to upgrade to build 2337. Uninstall build 2283 before installing 2337 or it won't update properly.

Thanks for the heads up on what to expect. I have downloaded build 2337, but will hold off installation until after Support tells me to do so.

Thank you also for the tipe about uninstalling prior version.

    Have a great day!

    Good evening, Seekforever:

I have yet to hear from Acronis Support, but I followed your heads up, downloaded & installed build 2337 on the new Dell pc. TI now works perfectly and all is well.

Again, many thanks for your assistance.
