I was browsing through Ebay and found this auction on this seller selling ZA Pro 6 (the latest version) which is al 100% brand new, but the thing is it comes with lifetime serial and updates. Is this normal for ZA and did ZA ever release some versions of their FW like this one, I would of thought probably a limited edition amount.

I would bet it's a scam. I heard someone recently say that ZoneLabs does not offer any lifetime serials, so it's probably no good. Especially if it's on Ebay.. ;)

I'm sure it is probably somebody who has created a serial number with a key generator and wanting to scam some cash out of it

Or, it's one of the warez finds where you can get a serial number with, like 100 yrs before renewal is needed. In my piracy days, I found a couple of antiviruses and firewalls with serial numbers giving you 'x years or days before renewal. One was, I think, 150 yrs which is just about lifetime.

Obviously I don't know if that antivirus really would keep working, updates and upgrades, that long AND I don't mess with warez stuff any more.

ebay has become a stable place to sell pirated software. I think they have given up trying to police the problem. Unless a software maker notifies them of a particular ad the listings continue.

I wouldn't buy any software from ebay or any similar place. You might get ZA very cheap but if the key doesn't work, you have nothing. OR, it might work but you never know if ZoneAlarm is the only software you install. All sorts of stuff could be installed with it -- trojans, worms, viruses, keyloggers -- who knows? Is it worth taking the chance to save a few dollars and a few minutes of download time?

Or for that matter, if you're going to go that route and use illegal software, then why buy at all? You can find keys and serials for almost any software on the net these days for free, if that is your inclination. I'd not recommend it though.

I even once saw a friend of mine using ZoneAlarm with 52402 days before expiry.

Yes and No, again who is to say that the same won't happen if you were to buy the same type of software off your local shop. I've bought genuine software off Ebay before (MS One Note 2003) and it came all selaed 100% with serial number the works. Mind you I saved $70
