I just purchased Acronis True Image 9.0 and understand that it will wipe all the data off the old disk as part of the manual cloning process. As I have never cloned a disk before, I would like to finish the cloning process, verify that everything works on the new disk, and THEN wipe (clean) the old disk. Is there a way to do this? I sent a message to Acronis, but so far no reply.

    Thanks!

When you clone a disk, the clone wizard asks you to select the clone mode. You can choose automatic or manual. If you choose manual mode then you will see that you can select various options as you work through the wizard. One of the options is to keep or destroy old data on the source disk. If you choose to keep the old data then you cannot wipe it at a later date with TI as it doesn't have a standalone wiping function. Acronis Privacy Expert can do that for you.

You can use TI's Add New Disk command to wipe a disk at any time.

Yes you can use add disk to delete partitions but that is not a secure wipe of data.

What leads you to believe that TI does a secure wipe when cloning/imaging? Curious....

    That's good news. Thanks.

PS - Same applies to TI8. Never paid attention to that before.
