Microsoft is always been a basic framework for developers to add to. They obviously have had no taste OR TALENT for visual modern appearance. Many attractive styles have been created over the years by very talented freelancers to supplement that loss of orderly modern appearance and kiddish look they peddled to the public and businesses as well as crappiest silliest audio. A 2 year old could have contributed better than that conglomerate tacked on to their versions.

The paint app is been stalled since the Windows 95 and even in Windows 10 user's have only Windows 7 backup and recovery in the Control Panel. How lame is that?

This after I read there would be no update released this week. In any case it seemed to install fine in my VM.

Thanks, mood. Downloading/installing now. Quite a lot of changes/fixes in the changelog but nothing really relevant to me. Guess I'm one of the lucky ones, W11 has been working pretty OK, with only some notable issues in Windows Security fixed since weeks now. :thumb:

How to pin random folder shortcuts to taskbar in Windows 11

Windows giveth, Windows taketh. This time, it taketh Quick Launch, but you can still add shortcuts to custom locations to your taskbar. Not all is lost. Indeed, here be a tutorial showing how to achieve this in Windows 11, without using, or rather, being able to use, Quick Launch. Enjoy.

Updated to 22000.132 and everything still works. None of the issues in the changelog applied to this machine so it's pretty much status quo. Which is good. About 1.5 GB to clean up. Painless update experience.

They don't reduce performance, but the layout of the OS - the menu and the taskbar - sure do reduce productivity.

Where I can download the iso without getting a virus, apart from windows updates

also if I run setup.exe (after iso unpacking) and choose to keep files do I keep software installs and licences or need to redo everything

On adguard could not find windows 11 iso but there are several reputable sites with links

    1. Register for the Windows Insider Program.
    2. Download a Windows Insider Preview ISO (for me this was a Windows 10 ISO, but it can be updated to Windows 11, when being part of the Windows Insider Program)

Thanks that worked fine and its fast, I made an ntlite version too (debloated)
It seams to me you don't need a license for now, that's good, w11 will work without licence activation, its temporarily free
