    Before the usual, (make sure you have the latest version) and all that, let me point out that, like others, i also am using True Image up-to-date as i know it.

    The problem resides with a 98SE platform: The preliminary Wizard routine goes OK up to the exact point when it's prompted for a CD, then that insidious ERROR saying Please Insert Disc just won't stop.
    (A Fresh New Clean CD-RW IS!! in the CD-ROM drive and also removed and replaced with other new one's and still that error prompt continues and thus stops any advacement of this program.

    I read some other threads in this Forum of similar instances and so far i either have not been able to follow those steps correctly or am missing something, or worse, it just won't work period.

    My question is, why can't Acronis issue an immediate update for this seeminly minor stopage at the onset of beginning a backup image to CD-RW?

    Thanks for your concern, and yes you are welcome for me supporting Acronis Products today.

    Something is taking exclusive right to your CD-RW at boot time - check for directCD, InCD or similar programs.

    Not TRUE!!

    Nothing at all wrong with either of my 2 CD-RW drives: Ghost works fine copying an image to many CD's in spanning them but refuses to verify entirely which turned my attention to this purchase of True Image.

    This Acronis program starts to complain before the very first CD can be copied to with True Image.

    You can surf this site to see similar issue like this: But no concrete solution is been found yet to my knowledge.

    Ghost 2002/2003 does its stuff in DOS, so that's very different.

    Please don't shout NOT TRUE, i'm simply suggesting paths that might or might not help you, i'm not suggesting your CD-RW's are damaged.

    Not shouting as you might interpreted from the CAPS but merely making that the expression of 100% confidence!

    I am open to other suggestions or perhaps Acronis Support Moderator directly but this is a serious problem that should not even exist to begin with IMO.

    The last thing anyone expects from a fresh purchase is to find an obstacle to the program even being able to complete a first-run.

    Are these Acronis Products thoroughly tested for these issues before being offered like this?

    I don't want to give a negative impression of this software line but TI 8.0 out-of-the-box is not only not working but can't even start. FAT32 file system/40 GB/Win98SE: All cd-roms are 100% fully functional as i regularly burn using Nero also. No other add on CD software is used at all.

    Hello MIRROR,

    Thank you for choosing Acronis Disk Backup Software.

    Please, also try to use the next tips to solve your problems:
    - Eject any disc from the burner prior to starting the application;
    - Proceed until the program asks for a disc and opens the tray;
    - Insert a disc and then click the "Proceed" button to close the tray automatically as well.

    If that doesn't help then we also recommend you to update third party CD writing software if any to the latest version available for free on its respective web site.

    Please also note that you should use a blank unformatted CD-R or CD-RW in order to create a bootable rescue disc.

    Thank you.

    Thank God, somebody posted a workaround!!! (for device is busy nonsense)

    https://www.wilderssecurity.com/showpost.php?p=463300&postcount=12

    I have to say, another issue is followed the first 2. :mad:
    While copying to the #2 spanned CD, the progress indicator is stuck at 12% while the CD motor is wailing away.

    I dont think this is normal, any suggestions to this newest bug?

    Hello MIRROR,

    Could you please boot with Acronis Bootable CD and verify the image on the CD with "Check Image" tool (after you get to Acronis True Image main screen you may eject Acronis Bootable CD - the software will work normally and you may insert any CD you need) and let us know the result? Did you manage to restore the image from CD in the end? Or did the restoration process just froze? Please try to copy the image parts from all the CDs to a single folder on hard drive and restore the image from this folder. Is the result the same?

    Thank you.

    Thank You yet again for including this Topic along your normal rounds of addressing issues and offering guidance.

    I don't know who you are (Ilya Toytman), but i would like to graciously offer my appreciation for the time you take as well as expertise as to do with this unique brand of software.

    I am at this time pleased to report that those steps you have posted completely removed any further obstacles that stood in the way of proceeding thru complete operations:

    Please continue in your ACRONIS SUPPORT capacity as you are a major relief to many. This software needs adjustments to make it more user friendly with less effort as i see it, but it still for the most part is extremely useful, or can and eventually will be if given the proper attention.

    Thanks:
