Emsisoft Anti-Malware 5.0 seems like one of the best, and it's working with no problems on my 7 x64 machine. But it's probably more than I need with how I use the computer and Sandboxie. Looking for a really light AV.

    Trying something new:

First I did a clean Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit installation, after that I installed AVG Free 9.0; haven't touched a single option regarding security.

God what can security be simple, absolutely liking it. In combination with my own behaviour (up-to-date, reliable sites/downloads, careful surfing) it is absolutely rock solid.

After I realized that R-Wipe & Clean needed almost two hours to clean all the crap my system had collected, I decided to keep it light and clean by running all the time in shadow mode. That should pretty much cover security too, so the additional software should be in charge of protecting privacy.

So the new setup on XP Pro 32bit is as follows:

    Real time:

    Shadow Defender
    DefenseWall v3.01
    Windows Firewall
    AVG 9.0 free
    PeerBlock

    On demand:

    Sandboxie

    On queue (taken into consideration):

    SpyShelter or Zemana AntiLogger
    MBAM
    Online Armor

I would remove AppDefend because it is no longer supported.

From what I have read Defensewall's firewall is also very good. I don't know 100% how AppDefend works though because I only install current app's.

Its the best firewall HIPS out there but it do not show every apps connection to the net, appdefend does.

but taking 0% cpu and less than 2mb ram, it not worth removing..

    But thanks for replying ;)
