What a pile of crap

    I downloaded and installed this trial. What a mistake. I have never had more poblems with a piece of software in my life. Does anyone there test this software before release? My machine freezes, it has slowed down quite a bit, and constantly get this program has caused an error and needs to close.

    I can't believe they actually sell this.

    The freeze may be due to a problem with the malware shield that runs in the system tray.

    The workaround for me is to have updated to the latest video card software from NVidia for my 6600 card - I can now load Windows without it freezing so long as I have the Shield set at the minimum level.

    If you need the higher level, then the workaround I found is to have the Shield service start manually, rather than automatically - in other words once booted and logged on, I have to click on the Shield icon to start it running - after that the freezing is rare but happens occasionally.

    I believe it is a case of the Shield detecting the changes that XP makes when it boots up and tries to catch them. It may also be a software race condition.

    I agree that the workarounds shouldn't be required, but it might at least get you up and running.
